The Educational Information System – BILIS for short – serves as a central hub for all relevant school and student data and represents a milestone in modern data management. For this purpose, a data warehouse was developed, which consists of several individual applications and intelligently brings together all data. The core components of BILIS include a job manager, a metadata system, and a state-of-the-art reporting cockpit.

Digital administration relieves staff, accelerates processes, and puts people at the center. Especially in the area of child, youth, and social services, there is a high need to modernize processes and get help to people faster.

The challenge: Existing systems reaching their limits

The current IT systems for social services as well as child and youth services of the federal state are based on two separate applications that have been in use for over 15 years. Different technologies and processes in each district increase training effort and complicate support. The systems require high maintenance effort in daily use, offer little room for further development, and can only support new requirements to a limited extent.

The solution: HUMAN - a central digital platform

With HUMAN, we replace these legacy applications with a central, modern application. Social services as well as child and youth services are handled in a unified process throughout the federal state.
